Runners Edge Of The Rockies – Speed Workout

by Steve

I was concerned about tonight workout. For starters, it was HOT! really, really, HOT!. My day started with Masters Swim, then a very intense (and HOT) Yoga session. Then we took our baby to the pool (time in the sun), and then I went to hills/speed work! (in between all those “relaxation” activities, I worked)

Turned out to be tough and challenging, and in the end a great workout.

We did a 2 mile warm up with plyometrics, followed by some core work and lunges (and varieties of lunges) and some step-ups.

For the workout we did 10 (Yes TEN, that’s “only four more” after you have already six) hill repeats. It wasn’t a huge hill, but ten hard efforts up any hill can wear you thin.

Next we did 3 laps around the park which I think are around 3/4 of a mile, with a 5K effort up the hill (same one as the hill repeats)

Followed by a recovery lap around the park.

Once again, a fun and challenging workout with a great group.
