First Speed Workout of the Season With Runners Edge of the Rockies

by Steve

Tonights speed workout was a reminder that I have been focusing a lot more on endurance running, rather than speed work.

I feel that is OK. I have a great base and my legs are feeling strong. Now I plan on maintaining my endurance (and building upon it) while increasing my turnover and of course, speed.

The goal is to break that 4 hour barrier in my fall marathon. Still not certain if that will be the NYC marathon or the Denver Marathon.

Tonights workout was led by the runners edge of the rockies. We did:

2 mile warm-up with plyometrics
various lunges
4 75 meter pickups
stretching
2 miles of fartleks
1 mile at 5K pace
.5 mile cool down

A great evening, challenging workout and an incredibnle group. If you are in Denver, I highly suggest checking out Runner Edge of The Rockies. I am thrilled I found them!
