I meant to get out earlier this morning but got busy. I couldn’t get out first thing because I had an article due for the Contact Lens Society of America. It was late and I promised them I would have it to them no later than this morning. So I proofed and finished it this morning.
Then I got myself ready to hit the road. Of Course I was not fully prepared. It took me another 20 minutes to do the basics. Find my shorts and jersey, fill my water bottle (Actually this time I used a camel back which was very nice. I think I like it better than water bottles for training rides.), put air in my tires, etc…
Bottom line I was not in the saddle until about 10:30 am. The sun was up and it was hot! Not terrible, just hot. I got in a nice 18 mile ride before I figured the sun was just a little too strong for my pale skin.
Again, just up and down neighborhood streets and down a couple busy roads where necessary.
After being off the Bike for so long, and just a bit frightened to ride in New York City, it is nice to be in Colorado where there are plenty of beautiful and friendly bike courses to take on.
